What is sustainability? In its simplest terms, it’s the maintenance of life on Earth. It’s about maintaining Earth’s resources, environmental systems and social structures so that life can endure. In other words, sustainability is about survival.

In construction and engineering, sustainability involves meeting present day needs for housing, infrastructure and commercial installations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
