Health & Safety

At Woodhams, the health and safety of our team, our clients and all those with a stake or interest in our projects is paramount. Our OHSAS 18001 accreditation has provided us with a framework for building an exceptional health and safety record through the adoption of sound risk management principles.

Our policy is to take all reasonable steps to protect employees and others from hazards that are foreseeable and could lead to personal injury.

The company will:

  • Ensure safe working conditions on all premises under Woodhams’ control.
  • Take account of all relevant statutory requirements on health and safety.
  • Provide training, guidance and supervision as necessary to ensure that all employees are fit and capable to undertake tasks safely.
  • Provide all relevant and appropriate safety gear and protective equipment.
  • Ensure that all safety gear and protective equipment are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure the cooperation of all employees in health and safety matters through the provision of effective two-way communications.

Employees of Woodhams have a duty to:

  • Work safely and with due consideration to colleagues and other persons with whom they come into contact.
  • Observe and adhere to all company instructions and procedures that relate to health and safety.
  • Use safety gear and protective equipment properly and in line with statutory obligations.
  • Report incidents that have resulted in or may result in personal injury or damage to property.
  • Cooperate fully in the investigation of accidents.
  • Following an accident, take reasonable steps to minimise the possibility of a recurrence.
  • Report failures and/or defects in any equipment or machinery that you are working with to management.
