Our Employees

Essential to the ‘Woodhams Way’ is the protection and support of our employees. We are committed to promoting their health, happiness and success, and we are proud to have created a company culture of integrity, professionalism, enthusiasm and team spirit. It is the reason we boast such high levels of staff retention.

Occupational Health and Safety

We value the health and safety of our workers above all else and demand only the highest standards of occupational health and safety. To us, no injury or illness caused by or related to working for Woodhams is acceptable.

All project managers and site supervisors receive accredited site safety training (CITB), and we have implemented a system of near-miss incident reporting to identify potential dangers and take appropriate corrective action and precautionary measures.

We also operate a stringent health and safety policy that requires employees to comply with all safety standards and instructions, use equipment safely and appropriately, report accidents or defects, and cooperate fully in any health and safety investigation.

Training and Professional Development

We invest heavily in the training and continuing professional development of our employees to ensure that they are proficient, capable and at the forefront of industry developments. In addition to practical training, we have supported our employees through National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and other courses. We also offer apprenticeships.

Equality and Diversity

Woodhams seeks to work with the most talented people in the industry, regardless of their race, age, sex, sexual orientation or beliefs. We also recognise that people with different experiences and from different backgrounds can bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we operate.

Employee Perks and Benefits

We offer and support flexible working arrangements where we can, e.g. working from home and part-time. We also offer yearly bonuses and an incentive scheme for employee referrals. This has helped build loyalty to our business and contributed to our excellent staff retention rates.
